Hot Pursuit 5K By Goose Creek Police Happening Saturday

GOOSE CREEK, S.C. – If you’re in the mood to burn some calories while helping out a good cause, the Goose Creek Police Department’s annual Hot Pursuit 5K is happening this Saturday.

There’s still time to sign up. To do so, click here. Race day entry fee is $40, and both walkers and runners are welcome.

The 5K will begin Saturday, June 10 at 8:30 a.m. and will start at the Goose Creek Municipal Center. The race will use paved hiker/biker trails and paved roadways before returning to the municipal center.

There is also a half-mile kids run that follows the path around the lake. This is a free event for children. That race starts at 7:30 a.m.

Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers for the following age groups: 19 or younger, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.

Prizes will also be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each age group and the first 500 runners to finish the event will get a finishers medal.

The Hot Pursuit 5K was established and implemented by Chief LJ Roscoe in 2019. The Mission of the event is to give back to the community by supporting “Shop with a Badge” and “Operation Christmas Joy.”
