Elderly Man Killed In Triple Shooting ID’d: Berkeley County Coroner

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim fatally shot this week in Moncks Corner.

Coroner Darnell Hartwell said his office was contacted Tuesday at 6:47 p.m. after three people were shot on Taurus Lane in Moncks Corner.

One victim, Walter White, was pronounced deceased on the scene from the injuries sustained in the shooting. He was 72 years old and from Moncks Corner.

According to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, deputies said they were called to the scene just before 6 p.m. in reference to an argument.

While responding to the call, deputies were updated that shots were fired. Officers arrived on the scene and located three victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

White was pronounced dead on scene, and two others were transported to an area hospital for treatment, deputies said.

It’s not clear if any arrests in the case have been made. The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate.
