MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – In an effort to keep the town’s roadways safe, the Moncks Corner Police Department is conducting traffic safety checkpoints Friday evening, June 23.
The checkpoints will take place in the areas of Bonniott Street, Whitesville Road and Hill Street.
Police did not give exact times the checkpoints will take place along those areas. However, the purpose is to deter impaired driving and make sure drivers are following traffic laws.
In South Carolina, law enforcement officers have the legal right to stop drivers for the purpose of checking each driver’s license, vehicle registration and proof of insurance.
