HANAHAN, S.C. – The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim of a weekend shooting in Hanahan.
Coroner Darnell Hartwell said his office was initially contacted Saturday at 12:47 a.m. for a fatal shooting that took place at 1846 Remount Road in Hanahan.
On Tuesday, he identified the shooting victim as Demietrese Evans, 24, of North Charleston.
Autopsy results revealed that he died from injuries sustained from a gunshot.
Hanahan investigators said they are following leads and continue to work on locating those responsible for the shooting.
“This appears to be an isolated incident but, as always, we ask the public to always be careful and aware of their surroundings,” HPD posted to social media.
