Missing Boater’s Body Recovered From Lake Moultrie

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – First responders have recovered the body of a missing boater, according to the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office.

On Sunday at 3:08 p.m., Coroner Darnell Hartwell said his office was notified that a missing boater on Lake Moultrie had been located.

The missing boater was recovered by the Berkeley County Sherriff’s Office Marine Patrol, Divers, and Department of Natural Resources.

Hartwell said the deceased boater is Gerry Wayne Brazel, 63, of Summerville.

Berkeley County EMS, the Moncks Corner Police Department and North Berkeley Fire and Rescue also responded to the incident.

The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office, Moncks Corner Police Dept and DNR are investigating.
