BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – Berkeley County families will see a change in access to one of their favorite educational destinations. The Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry Special Pass Program, previously available through the Berkeley County Library System, has officially been discontinued.
The program, titled “Everyone Can Play,” allowed library cardholders to check out free passes to the Charleston-based museum. Its end comes as part of the museum’s broader strategic shift, which includes updates to its programming, services, and overall mission. Though this collaboration is coming to a close, library officials acknowledged the value it brought, describing it as a “valuable resource” that created lasting memories for local families.
Library patrons with an existing hold on the Children’s Museum pass will have that hold automatically removed. However, families are still encouraged to explore the museum through its membership program, which offers various options to keep the experience going. Details on memberships can be found at explorecml.org/membership.
In addition to the main location in Charleston, the museum also operates a satellite location in St. George, SC at 205 Ann St., housed within the St. George Rosenwald School.
