
MONCKS CORNER, S.C. — Authorities are investigating an early-morning shooting that rattled a quiet Moncks Corner neighborhood after multiple shots were fired from a moving vehicle along Bonnoitt Street, according to Police Chief Antwan Richardson.
The incident happened at approximately 2:40 a.m. Sunday, prompting a quick response from Moncks Corner police officers and Berkeley County deputies. Despite the burst of gunfire, officials say no injuries have been reported, and there is no confirmed property damage at this time.
Investigators spent part of the morning canvassing the area, recovering shell casings from the roadway and nearby properties. Police are also reviewing available video and audio evidence in hopes of identifying those responsible.

Chief Richardson said the department understands how unsettling the incident may be for residents and emphasized that the case is being taken seriously.

Officers remain actively engaged in the investigation and are urging members of the public to come forward with any information that could help. That includes footage from home security systems, doorbell cameras, or passing vehicles that may have captured the suspect vehicle or the moments leading up to the shooting.
Residents in the area are also being asked to remain mindful of law enforcement personnel as they continue to follow up on leads.
