BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. — A late‑night crash in Berkeley County left one person dead and another hospitalized after a pickup truck veered off College Park Road and struck a tree, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Cpl. Nick Pye says the crash happened around 11:40 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13, near Andrews Boulevard. A 2021 Ford pickup was traveling west when it ran off the right side of the roadway and collided with a tree.

The driver was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. A passenger inside the truck died from their injuries, Highway Patrol confirmed.
Berkeley County Coroner Darnell Hartwell identified the deceased passenger as Thomas Dylan Prince, 30, of Summerville.
The crash remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
