BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.โ€”Female law enforcement officers all over the country are standing behind a little girl who stands behinds the thin blue line.

Kinley Goertler, 4, was shopping with her mom recently in Washington when she found a SWAT police uniform and picked it out as her Halloween costume. The only problem was Kinley noticed that it was described as a โ€œboyโ€™s costume.โ€

โ€œI got it for her anyways and told her that cops could be girls, too,โ€ Goertler told ABC News. โ€œI could tell she was still bothered and it bothered me as a mom, so I posted about it on Facebook as just a โ€˜mom rantโ€™ for our family and friends.โ€

That Facebook rant quickly caught the attention of female police officers all over the country which, in turn, spawned the โ€œGirl Cops Are Awesomeโ€ movement.

Recently, several female police officers with the Goose Creek Police Department rallied behind โ€œOfficer Kinley,” sending the little girl their well wishes.

โ€œWelcome to the blue sisterhood, Kinley,โ€ they wrote. โ€œWe are strong. We are fierce. We are proud. We are blue.โ€

The little girl says when she grows up, she hopes to one day be an officer, too.

โ€œShe has no doubts about it whatsoever right now,โ€ her mom said.
