Man Charged In Fatal Moncks Corner Shooting, Victim Identified

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – A man is in jail following a fatal shooting in the Moncks Corner area Friday.

Esau Branch, Sr., 58, has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office.

He was booked into the Hill-Finklea Detention Center and was denied bond.

Deputies said the fatal shooting happened on Mitton Road. The motive for the shooting was not immediately known.

The Berkeley County Coronerโ€™s Office has identified the deceased as Ollie Manigo, 37.

Chief Deputy Coroner Darnell Hartwell said that his office was contacted on Saturday by a local hospital in reference to a victim that was pronounced dead as a result of the shooting.

The Berkeley County Coronerโ€™s Office and the Berkeley County Sherriffโ€™s Office continue to investigate.
