After the Whitesville Fire Department finished battling the fire, the Palmetto SC Region of the Red Cross stepped in to help during the aftermath, providing needed assistance to the three adults and four children affected by the fire.

Comfort kits, which contain personal hygiene items, were given to the family, along with financial assistance for temporary housing, food, and clothing. The Red Cross will continue to work closely with the family and partner organizations as the family deals with the long-term effects of losing their home.

The family joins more than 1300 people who have been helped by the Red Cross since the beginning of 2014. If you would like to help other affected by house fires, please call 843-768-2323 or visit www.RedCross.org/CarolinaLowcountry.
