BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.—A very sad story out of Berkeley County…

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, troopers are investigating a one-vehicle crash in Anderson County that claimed the life of a Berkeley County firefighter Sunday night.

Randy Fallaw, 38, of the Ladson area was headed north in his truck when he swerved to avoid a previous accident.

Lance Corporal Tony Keller says Fallaw went off the right side of the interstate and hit a tree.

Keller says Fallaw was extracted from his truck and taken to Greenville Memorial where he later died.

Fallaw was a longtime firefighter for the Caromi Volunteer Fire Department in the Ladson area.

He was also the owner of Backyard Builders.
