Hours after a masked gunman opened fire on Lt. Will Rogers at a local gas station located at Highway 52 and Cypress Gardens Road, hundreds of people have taken to Facebook and Twitter to show their support to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office and the veteran law enforcement officer.

Also, a memorial now sits outside of the sheriff’s office.

Throughout the day, people have been signing it as a way to show their support for the brave men and women in law enforcement who put their lives on the line on a daily basis.

Below we’ve included some of the social media posts submitted by people not just here in the lowcountry–but across the United States.

They are all hoping Roger has a speedy recovery and his shooter is soon caught.
