GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–Hurricane Matthew storm debris collection in the City of Goose Creek is being conducted by three agencies: Berkeley County, the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT), and the City of Goose Creek.
Berkeley County has activated a storm debris removal contract. The contractor is mobilizing work crews. This contract is for the removal of debris resulting from Hurricane Matthew only. Schedules for debris collection within the City of Goose Creek are being developed.
SCDOT is in the process of activating the debris removal contract for Berkeley County. This contract is for the removal of debris resulting from Hurricane Matthew only. Debris pick-up schedules within the City of Goose Creek will be provided by SCDOT once they are determined.
The City of Goose Creek has returned to the normal weekly sanitation schedule for the collection of household garbage, yard debris (in brown yard debris roll-carts and paper yard debris bags), construction debris and bulky items. The standard rules for containerization and separation of debris apply.
City of Goose Creek crews will be supplementing the debris collection operations of Berkeley County and the SCDOT beginning Monday, Oct. 17.
