Slim Chickens To Open In Moncks Corner Mid-October

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – An Arkansas-based restaurant chain will soon open its doors for business in Moncks Corner. Construction is currently underway at 451 North U.S. Hwy. 52 for the new Slim Chickens. The restaurant is set to start serving customers Oct. 16.

The first 100 people to join Slim Chickens’ eclub for the Moncks Corner location will receive a VIP invite to a “slimthusiast event” with free food and southern hospitality. [Sign up for the eclub at this link.]

Slim Chickens will share the same stretch of highway with several other chicken-focused restaurants, including Chick-fil-A, Bojangles, Popeyes, KFC and Zaxby’s.

According to its website, Slim Chickens offers high-quality food and 17 house-made dipping sauces, allowing customers to enjoy a different flavor profile with each visit. Its menu is broader than many in the segment, offering chicken tenders, fresh salads, sandwiches, chicken and waffles, chicken wings and unique side items.

Slim Chickens, which launched in 2003 by founders Greg Smart and Tom Gordon, has over 235 locations in the United States, United Kingdom and Turkey and over 1,150 locations in development.

Seasoned multi-unit operating group, Bread Break Ventures, is at the forefront of opening, spearheading 30 Slim Chickens locations across the Carolinas and Virginia, according to a news release.

The restaurant chain opened its first South Carolina location on Garners Ferry Road in Columbia last year. Its second location opened in the Upstate in Fort Mill in April 2023. The Moncks Corner location will be the chain’s third location in the Palmetto State.

Slim Chickens locations are also planned for Florence, Myrtle Beach and Charleston, QSR Magazine reports.
