MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – A new seafood spot in Moncks Corner is preparing to officially cut the ribbon this week. Britt Bratt’s Garlic Crabs, owned and operated by Moncks Corner resident Brittney Simmons, will celebrate its grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday, May 1 at 11 a.m.
The restaurant, located at 102 Rembert C Dennis Boulevard, opened its doors to the public following its soft opening on Saturday, Feb. 22. Since then, Simmons says the response from the community has been overwhelmingly positive.
“Having a dedicated space to welcome guests has been incredibly rewarding,” she said. “This restaurant has been a dream of mine for nearly ten years,” she told The Berkeley Observer.

Britt Bratt’s serves a menu of seafood dishes centered on garlic-seasoned crabs, shrimp, crab clusters, and classic Lowcountry sides like seasoned corn, rice and potatoes. It’s open daily from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. but closed on Sundays and Mondays. Kids eat free on Wednesdays from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.
“Our menu features incredibly flavorful seafood dishes. Guests can anticipate exceptional hospitality, top-tier customer service, and attentive care throughout their dining experience,” she said.
Simmons credits her early passion for seafood to a 2015 collaboration with Marci Taylor Reid, known for her Dee Baby Girl Garlic Sauce. That partnership helped shape the flavors now served at Britt Bratt’s.
“Cooking seafood is a true passion of mine,” Simmons said. “I love the creative process and sharing dishes that people can really enjoy.”
A lifelong resident of Moncks Corner, Simmons emphasized that opening the restaurant in her hometown was intentional.
“It means everything to build this here, surrounded by the people who’ve supported me from the beginning,” she said. “I’m just really grateful.”
Thursday’s ribbon cutting is open to the public.
