Berkeley County Coroner: Passenger Killed After Car Veers Off Road and into Ditch

ambulance BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–According to Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury, a young man has died following a single-vehicle accident.

On Tuesday, 22-year-old Lamont Jenkins of Charleston, was a passenger in a vehicle traveling on Old Back River Road in Goose Creek.

Salisbury says the vehicle eventually ran off the roadway and into a ditch.

The coroner says Jenkins was transported to Trident Hospital and died at 6:10 p.m.

Salisbury stated that the cause of Jenkins’ death was internal injuries.

The accident is being investigated by the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
